One-on-One Tutoring for Kindergarten through College Students
At The Learning Curve, certified teachers meet one-on-one with each student weekly, in our offices. Generally, tutors meet only one hour per week; however, depending upon your student’s needs, you may choose to have him/her see a tutor twice per week to start.
Students meet with the same tutor at the same scheduled day and time each week. This allows the student and tutor to build a rapport and enables your child to feel comfortable with the predictable nature of and location of tutoring sessions.
Tutors work first on the student’s schoolwork to help the child begin to make measurable progress in class, but while doing so, our experienced teachers diagnose the difficulties and deficiencies each student has and addresses each one to assure that real learning is taking place. This helps your child move beyond just what is being taught in a current class to grasp the real nuances of the subject.
AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING
Schedule one-on-one tutoring with a certified teacher who specializes in the grade level and academic area your child needs help with. Each hour of tutoring is $55 per hour and is paid by the 1st of each month for that month’s scheduled tutoring.
While we do not require a contracted length of tutoring, we ask that you give our tutors and your child at least eight hours together to demonstrate significant changes in your child’s understanding and school grades; however, parents typically notice measurable progress within the first three hours students work with our tutors.
STANDARDIZED TEST PREP
If your child struggles with individual, computer-based, timed testing, schedule sessions once per week with the same tutor to enhance computer skills, practice timed reading and passages, and build confidence required to feel prepared for FSA and other required Florida tests.
ACT & SAT TEST PREP
The ACT & SAT are the best way to earn $$$ for college! Scholarships are awarded to students with the highest scores, and our certified instructors can help you get the best score possible. Our success rate is phenomenal!
The Learning Curve offers individual or small group tutoring for ACT & SAT college placement tests.
For first time college placement test takers: We recommend a 10 week class that meets twice per week: one class is English/Reading while the other class weekly is Math.
If you and a friend need a refresher course because you’ve taken the ACT or SAT before, and you would like to take a 6 week, 12 lesson course together, the cost is $35 per person per lesson!
And one-on-one instruction is $55 per person per lesson.
*All courses require a $30 additional fee for prep materials that the student keeps.
*The Learning Curve also offers individual tutoring for the PERT college placement test for TCC.
